What They Are: They are a
way to hold your show numbers on securely and safely in different locations.
How They Work: They are Made out of 3/4 "
polished spring steel roughly 6" long. They are in a clip or hairpin
type shape which means that they can be attached to whatever has a strap,
ring, or edge. As well they have another clip attached to hold the number
itself, and to this is added rubber 'jaws' to enable the number ( paper, laminated,
or what-have-you ) to be held even more securely.
Benefits: They allow you to wear your best
outfits without worry of damaging the material by repeatedly making pin holes
in the item. They also allow the numbers to be attached to wherever the occaision
demands, on the person, on the saddle, or elsewhere, all without trying to
make new holes. The changing of position or numbers is fast and easy, Very
important when dealing with multiple classes, horses, or even riders. Multiple
numbers can be stacked behind the first one allowing you to allways now where
your numbers are. Numbers will last longer due to the fact that they are complete
without holes and ripping associated with multiple holes. There is also less
chance of defaulting a class because the number ripped or fell off because
of an open pin.
Safety: There is a safety factor involved,
Though it may be slight, if there is an issue,( crowding by another horse,
being dismounted, or just due to stretching of material ), there is no chance
of being caught with an open pin in a dangerous situation, either on your
person, or on the horse where it may stab or cut either one of you.
Advantages: Even if there is a chance of the number
being ripped off, due to crowding, gates, wind etc. Instead of the number
material being ripped it will just pull-out of the clip. It allows you to
put the number to where it has the best advantage, as well as looking more
professional and classy.
Other uses: They need not only be a show item, or
even a horse item. They can be used for notices, small placards, or even as
identifiers. They may be used to identify support staff in different events
or on the trail, they may be used to identify your table in crowded shows,
sales, or demonstrations, Id card holders, leader markers or anything else
you may think of. They also make great map holders for almost any situation.!!
